Portrait artwork for artist Christopher Cipollone
Chris wanted to create something that plays on the themes of hypocrisy and grandstanding in online spaces. He wanted to juxtapose what is seen as pseudo-liberal speak with the self-congratulatory and polished façade that exists in advertising and media. TLDR; Sex sells.
To create this polished look, I opted for a high-key tungsten source with a white bounce to fill. A technique often used in advertising and commercial photography.
These themes exist in a series of works from Chris as he questions the authenticity of value systems perpetuated by corporations and their capitalistic motives.
More of his work is viewable here.
